Las Cafeteras is a team of 6 talented musicians who have played all over, and are still going at it. Las Cafeteras have taken the music scene by storm with their infectious live performances and have crossed-genre and musical borders, playing with bands such as Mexican icons Caifanes, Lila Downs, Colombian superstar Juanes, Los Angeles legends Ozomatli, folk/indie favorites Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, and most recently with Talib Kweli.

Do not miss Las Cafeteras performing at Southern Connecticut State University this weekend in front of Buley Library at 8pm. Tickets will be sold out front starting at 6pm prior to the concert.

My name is Cassady Aldrich and I am a student at Southern Connecticut State University. Over the weekend I was paired up with one of my classmates from my JRN-135 class to create a video where we interview people on a certain topic. The topic we had come up with was mobile devices and what effect they have had on society. From there we came up with specific questions to go with our topic to get a better idea of how people felt about it.
We gathered up our interviewees and asked them questions about their opinions on if their mobile device has had an impact on their life, if they are addicted to them, what their opinions are anthem effecting face to face interaction, and so on. The interviewees gave good responses and seemed to have strong opinions on the topic being talked about. I think it was a good idea to do the project on this topic as well as picking a younger crowd to interview. Enjoy!

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.
Why do this?
The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.
To help you get started, here are a few questions:
You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.
Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.
When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
